Life is like an orchard
Filled with appled dreams,
Budding with new promise
And hope in the unseen.

Then there blows a harsh wind
Breaking every bough,
Leaving broken splinters,
Like a shattered vow.

As in life and orchards,
God's promises hold true,
He takes the shattered splinters,
And He makes them anew.

New growth is young and tender,
And only will transcend,
From what its state once was,
But will never be again.

For from every broken splinter,
The blossoms doubly bloom,
Turning splinters into splendor,
That give a rare perfume.

Their fragrance now does render,
An essence from above,
A graceful, sweet surrender
Sent with His Love…
