sound the drum and blow the horn,
This blessed day our Lord was born!
We wrap the gifts and tie the bows,
while all around His spirit glows!
But do we look beyond the screen
of the dime store Jesus in the nativity scene?
O spirit of Christ, come unto me,
O give us sight, that we might see!
Your Father gave His only son,
salvation born for everyone!
O spirit of Christ, come unto me,
Open our hearts, that is my plea,
Open our hearts, and there indwell,
O come, O come, Emmanuel!
