~ God-Given Need
~
The human body is
such an amazing machine.
It arrives all
assembled with numerous parts.
And without
batteries it works like a charm,
For in their place
God has given us hearts.
But, people are more
than efficient machines.
For deep within our
souls, hidden from view,
Are some things that
we can not easily explain,
Called emotions, all
so essential to me and you.
Some of
these "feelings" are physical in nature,
But, the one most
essential to each and everyone
Is a simple four
letter word known to all as "love"
With us from birth,
it stays until our time here is done.
A baby feels love
rocked to sleep in a mothers arms.
A teenager feels
love from hearing a parents cheer.
It's the love that
makes children feel safe and secure.
It teaches them the
meaning of love and that is clear.
And it sets a
pattern that continues all of our life.
To be desired and
loved is something we all need.
To love and be loved
in return is "heavenly bliss"
With no exceptions
it's what everyone wants, indeed.
Makes no difference
whether you are young or old,
It matters not if
you're short or tall, whether rich or poor,
This God-given need
is within each and everyone of us.
To give love and
receive love, we ask for nothing more.
