How can I face this night alone,
knowing you're not coming home?
All these hours ahead of me,
so many tears I can hardly see
The house is lonely 'cause you're not here,
as I sit staring at your favorite chair.
There's your robe and slippers too,
Gee, Whiz, Honey, what can I do?
I'll make a sandwich, have a cup of tea
and think of how it used to be.
Now I'm walking and pacing the floor
Just happened to open the closet door.
You'd probably laugh at what I see,
A box that's marked "my memories."
Here's a four leaf clover for the lucky day
you told me all the things I wanted you to say.
There's that funny Valentine
that says "I'm a beggar, please be mine."
Here's a button from your coat,
an old hat you wore,
a trinket you bought me from a country store.
Oh there it is, haven't heard if for so long,
a record of our favorite song.
I miss you Honey, wish you were here,
just have to cry, here comes another tear.
Although you're gone, My Memories will stay
"Oh Lord, please help me make it
by faith in You, I pray."
