My Shining Star, My Dad ~
God needed someone very special
Strong and sturdy too,
To protect all of the family
With great fortitude.
He looked at the majestic mountain
But that was way
too high,
Then at a gigantic
tree
Not soft enough to
be a guy.
The sun too
bright, the moon too dim
He'll need to
think and plan and scheme,
To build and
understand
And hold lots of
love within.
A gentle heart, a
power to work
Grit to endure, a
humorous quirk,
A spring in his
step and twinkle in his eye
Muscle to lift and
spirit to fly.
So, of His own
image, He molded man
And made Himself
an eternal friend,
To share His
fatherly ways
He put His heart
within.
For when he walks
upright with God
A man will display
His glory too
And as a
masterpiece of faith to live
He is a Father
of true attribute.
Thank you so much
Dad
for being our
shining star
today we express
our gratitude.
