Peace

Going
off
to
war,
so
proud
and
brave
are
they,
I
saw
one
lift
his
voice
to
heaven
and
softly
begin
to
pray
Dear
Lord,
if I
should
die
upon
a
battlefield
someday,
would
be
no
more
than
I
should
do,
no
less
could
I
repay,
than
give
my
life
for
my
country,
help
keep
our
nation
free
from
the
evil
of
terrorism
Our
land
of
Liberty.'
Then
from
somewhere
in
the
crowd,
seeing
them
off
that
day,
A
trembling
voice
rang
out,
and
this
I
heard
her
pray
'God,
please
do
protect
them
and
bless
their
families
too,
I
just
got
word
yesterday,
my
other
boy,
is
now
with
you.'
