~ The Roadmap to God ~

Some people say they're seeking a truth-
As they murmur a Zen-like prayer,
They're mapping a pathway to light
And making themselves aware.

But sadly, aren't they full of themselves,
If they think they truly could earn,
Just one step up the ladder to God,
In this quest that they sojourn?

To spend one's whole life climbing mountains,
Reaching peaks that are higher and higher-
Not one of these short-lived triumphs
Will bring what they truly desire...

The roadmap to God's heart is His Son,
And not anything done or planned,
It's only by grace, that we'll see His sweet face-
Just follow the scars of His hand…
