Another strange October morning
And fear is building all around
Some sniper just relayed his warning
As one more body hits the ground
Yet in a room, a team of surgeons
Have braved the night to save a life
While in a daze, a husband burdens
On how to live without his wife
It seems the world has lost direction
A heart is snuffed without remorse
We drift without self dedication
And wonder why we're so off course
Whatever went with love thy neighbor
Or living by the golden rule
We should've left things as they once were
Before a prayer was banned from school
My soul cries out as I'm reminded
John 3:16, was like today
A world God loved, stood lost and blinded
As they carried His Son away.
