When I was just a tiny girl
I had this secret verse,
Tucked it in my little heart
Almost 'til it burst.
 
I needed it's sweet assurance
To be safe in my world,
To face the giants of the night
Fears of a tender girl.
To know God's up in heaven
Looking down at me,
Keeping watch over everything
For His plans to be.
 
God still whispers in my heart
My love is here for you,
With each passing year
My verse is ringing true.
 
Jesus is my Shepherd
Guess who I am,
It's such a special secret
I'm His little lamb.
