Welcome To My Cottage ~
All I have is a little house
Where I can lay my head,
I need not marbled mansions
For my feathered bed.
All I have is a fragrant rose
And ivy in the yard,
I need not ivory towers,
With windows that are barred.
All I have is a little place
And in my lap, my cat,
I hear her purr of pleasure,
As she shuts her eyes to nap.
All I have is a gentle place,
With a garland o'er the door,
A welcoming place,
For young and old,
And children on the floor.
And at my place is a wooden door,
On which I hope you'll rap,
Come on in, we'll have some tea,
And I'll hang up your cap…
