~ Little White Feather And Brave Eagle ~
Brave Eagle was hunting
one day
and Little White Feather passed his way
His heart was captured by her beauty
and his spirit knew this love had to be...
By a fresh mountain stream
they embraced in love's dream
He was a brave handsome man
but was not of a known clan
His love was so great for her
many horses did he offer
and strong Indian ponies they were
he also offered pelts of soft fur
But her Father said no...
Prove yourself brave or go
The great black bear you must fight
and prove your spirit's might
The great black bear roamed forest and field
and many of the clan's people had it killed
Little White Feather held great fear
with her love's fate drawing near...
Brave Eagle tracked the great bear
At Bent Creek, they fought there
Broken was Brave Eagle's bow
and his body began to slow
His left hand almost torn from his wrist
he hit the old bear with his right fist
The old bear fell to the ground
His body still, not making a sound
Brave Eagle using merciful skill
made a quick clean kill
With body so tired he could hardly move
but his spirit's bravery did he prove
Dragging the great bear for all to see
For Brave Eagle it was a true victory
He was the bravest in the land
and had won Little Feather's hand
Now their love would always be
and their spirits soared high and free
Hearts wrapped in love's eternal fold
Theirs was a deep love of the soul
Passion takes them to love's special place
their heart's locked in ecstasy's embrace
Now they will always be together
Their spirit's love will last forever...
